Wayne Commissioners, School Board To Discuss Renovation, Desegregation

Posted Updated

WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — Wayne County commissioners and school board members are coming to the table to figure out what the schools need.

Both groups plan to visit all 31 schools in the system over the next two weeks to see what needs to be done.

The school board is asking commissioners to approve an $82 million building and renovation plan.

There are concerns about segregation in six Goldsboro schools. Commissioners say that must be addressed before a plan is passed.
