Posted Updated

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill High School was on lockdown Wednesday after a fight ended with one student injured.

Kim Hoke, of the Chapel Hill School System, said the school was having a spring festival Wednesday afternoon when a fight broke out involving three students. One of the students went into seizure and one suffered minor injuries. Both are being treated at UNC Hospitals. The third student was released to his parent.

At 3 p.m., all school activities had ceased at Chapel Hill High to maintain the safety of all students.

School dismissed at its regular time, 3:30 p.m.

Chapel Hill High principal Mary Anne Hardebeck said in a written statement that the incident is under investigation and that it does not appear to be gang-related.

Students have Friday off because of a teacher's work day.
