Man Dies After Crashing Into Raleigh Statue

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police said a man died after he drove into a statue early Wednesday morning.

According to police reports, 60-year-old David LeMay was going about 50 mph in his 2004 Saturn when he crashed into the Confederate memorial on the corner of Hillsborough and Salisbury streets.

There is no word on what caused the accident.
