DURHAM, N.C. — Duke students will have to find another way to celebrate a big win. Durham fire officials revoked the permits for bonfires for the rest of the year.

The news comes after a incident following Duke's recent basketball win over UNC. Fire officials said that Duke students had permission to put only three wooden benches on the fire at one time.

After the win, Duke students put up to 11 benches on the fire, officials said.

Fire officials were concerned the fire could spread to nearby trees if it became too large.

Officials plan to revisit the policy next year.
