Two Die In Wreck Attributed To Ice Near Wilson

WILSON, N.C. — A motorist sliding on an icy patch of road caused a deadly wreck near Wilson.

A pickup truck slammed into a guardrail after hitting some ice on Highway 264 near Wilson.

North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers say the driver was able to safely get out of the wrecked truck, but two other vehicles hit the truck.

Two passengers in one of those cars died. Casseta Walters, 61, and Sonia Picott, 54, were killed when the vehicle they were in hit the wrecked truck.

Troopers say charges are possible.
