DURHAM, N.C. — One person is dead Thursday in a multi-vehicle accident on eastbound Interstate 40.
The accident occurred around 5 p.m. near exit 283 near the Interstate 540 ramp.
Several people were treated at the scene and taken away by ambulance.
There is no word on their condition.
