Man Dies After Thanksgiving Day Shooting In Chatham County

SILER CITY, N.C. — Chatham County authorities have a suspect in a fatal Thanksgiving Day shooting outside a mobile home.

At approximately 3 p.m. on Thursday, officers from the Chatham County Sheriff's Office went to 3561 Mount Vernon Hickory Mountain Road just outside of Siler City in response to a shooting. Officers found a man identified as James Wade Taylor, 63, of 12084 US 64 East, Lot 2, Siler City dead near the home.

The suspect in the shooting has been identified, however charges are pending at this time.

Investigators said that Taylor died from a single gunshot wound to the neck.

The incident, which happened outside a mobile home, is still under investigation at this time.
