Posted Updated

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — Johnston County commissioners approved grant money to help pharmaceutical Novo Nordisk expand.

Two weeks ago, the company announced a $100 million expansion to its Johnston County plant. The move would add 187 new jobs.

On Tuesday, county commissioners agreed to pay up to $5.3 million to help in that expansion.

The money would be paid out over seven years starting in 2006.
