SBI Agents Arrest Hoke Woman For Husband's Murder

RALEIGH, N.C. — Investigators make an arrest in a four-year-old murder.

Agents with the State Bureau of Investigation and Hoke County deputies arrested Deborah Scaggs. They believe she murdered her husband, James, in November 2000.

Authorities found James Scaggs shot to death in his home, and Deborah Scaggs was also hurt. There is no word on whether her injuries were self-inflicted.

Scaggs was indicted by a grand jury for first-degree murder and is being held without bond in the Hoke County Jail.
