Investigator Claims Teen Was At Cannady's Home At Time Of Murder

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — A teen accused of shooting an elderly Durham woman in her own home may have told investigators he was in the house the night of the murder.

Michael Sullivan is charged with killing 89-year-old Lois Cannady two years ago. Sheriff's detective Robert Cox told jurors Wednesday that Sullivan admitted he was in Cannady's home the night she died.

Sullivan's lawyer contends the 19-year-old was nowhere near the house.

Prosecutors may wrap up their case later on Wednesday. If convicted, Sullivan would be given an automatic life sentence.
