Wake School Officials Scrap Year-Round Conversion Plan

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Mandatory year-round conversion is no longer an option to ease overcrowding next year.

The Wake County Board of Education directed staff members to continue looking at adding mobile classrooms. The board also suggested building modular schools.

A combination of approaches may be considered to create additional space for students.

Wake County needs to find space for more than 3,700 elementary students, 507 middle school students and more than 1,600 high school students for the next school year.
