Halogen Lights Illuminate UNC-Chapel Hill Bell Tower

Posted Updated

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The bell tower at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is being seen in a whole new light.

Private money paid for new, energy-efficient halogen lights at the Morehead-Patterson Bell Tower.

A small crowd led by Chancellor James Moeser was on hand Tuesday evening as the university flipped the switch.

The 73-year-old tower is named after two families who supported the university in its early days.
