RALEIGH, N.C. — Several homes in Raleigh were evacuated for a few hours Tuesday morning after a car broke a gas line at a house.

Fire officials said that someone backed their vehicle into a gas line at a residence, rupturing it at around 6 a.m.

Authorities evacuated 10 homes near the intersection of Beechridge Road and Lochmore Drive.

A CAT bus was called to the area to allow families to go inside and keep warm.

Crews were able to temporarily fix the ruptured gas line, and families were allowed to return to their homes two hours later.

There were no reports of any injuries.
