One man was killed and two injured in two separate shootings in Rocky Mount Friday evening.

According to Rocky Mount police officials, the first shooting occurred about 11 p.m. at 717-K Starling Way. Marvin Braswell, 20, was shot in the head and was later pronounced dead at Nash General Hospital. The gunman fled the scene in a green Dodge Stratus, police said.

In the second incident, Danny Lee Ellis, 29, suffered a gunshot wound to the head at 808 Gay Street around 11 p.m., police said. He was listed in critical condition at Nash General Hospital late Saturday afternoon.

Josh Simmers, 20, and Joseph Wing, 21, were arrested in connection with the shooting of Ellis. Police said one of the suspects suffered a broken hand at some point during the incident. Both men will have their first court appearance on Monday.
