Women In UNC-TV ID Theft Case Will Not Be Charged In N.C.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Two women accused of stealing credit card numbers from local public TV donors will not be charged in North Carolina.

Adaeze Okeke and Syretta Scott face stiffer penalties in New York where they were arrested. The two were in court Wednesday on identity theft charges.

Okeke was a temporary worker for UNC-TV during its Spring pledge drive. Police say she stole credit card numbers from 60 pledge sheets. She allegedly used them to buy plane tickets for herself and Scott.
