RALEIGH, N.C. — Farm sounds will help celebrate the summer bounty in Raleigh Thursday.
The annual
State Farmers Market Festival
runs from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Festival games begin with a corn shucking showdown at 11:30 a.m.; a farm animal sound contest at noon and a corn eating contest at 12:30 p.m.
There are cash prizes for winners. As usual, there will be plenty of free corn and watermelon to enjoy.
The State Farmers Market is located on Lake Wheeler Road.
