WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The CIAA is losing an old member of the conference.
Winston-Salem State University on Wednesday announced plans to move from the CIAA to a Division I conference.
School officials said the move is mainly for the football. They have not decided what conference they will go to, but they want to stay with the CIAA until the move is complete -- which could take up to five years.
