Clinton School Board Retreat To Focus On Race Relations

Posted Updated

CLINTON, N.C. — The Clinton School Board is planning a retreat to discuss race relations in the Clinton school system.

Board members got a report on the issue Monday night. But they said they need time to review it and then develop a plan of action.

The report was prompted by a claim that Clinton High School Principal Jeff Bell used a racial slur last year when referring to an employee.

Bell denies making the statement. He was cleared of the charges.
