RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake County school board members will have to decide how to deal with less.
Wake County commissioners recently gave schools an increase in funding, but it is $5 million less than the school system wanted. The board will hold a special meeting Thursday to discuss what to cut.
The staff recommendation is to cut $4.9 million for new programs, which includes pay raises, specialized teachers and a parent leadership institute.
