The Lee County Sheriff's Office has filed arrest warrants for Darrell Gutter, 21, of Pittsboro. He is a black, 5 feet 7 inches tall and was last seen wearing black shorts and no shirt.
Gutter is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflicting serious injury in connection with a shooting Wednesday at 4 a.m. at 575 E. Forest Oaks Drive.
Officials say Travis Mayo, 28,of Moncure, was shot in the leg. He is in fair condition at University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Officials have not released a motive.
