Suspect Arrested In Wilson Shooting

WILSON, N.C. — Police in Wilson say an argument apparently resulted in one man shooting another early Sunday morning.

Police were called to Wilson Medical Center at 3:15 a.m. in reference to a shooting on Ward Boulevard.Officers found Arthur Lamont Anderson, 30, of Elizabeth Road, being treated for a gunshot wound to his chest.

An investigation revealed Anderson was shot while driving his vehicle on Ward Boulevard, near Goldsboro Street.

Police arrested Gregory Maurice Wilson Sunday afternoon and charged him with one count of attempted first-degree murder and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Wilson, 28, of Dianne Drive, was placed in the Wilson County Detention Center without bond pending a first court appearance.

Police say the men were allegedly involved in a verbal altercation at Oscars Nightclub located on Black Creek Road prior to the shooting.
