RALEIGH, N.C. — A celebration of the transformation of Glenwood South is scheduled for Saturday in Raleigh.

As part of a beautification program, the section of Glenwood Avenue now has underground utilities, new trees, pavement and restaurants.

Saturday Mayor Charles Meeker will rededicate the street at 3 p.m.

A street party, complete with bands, kicks off following the ceremony and lasts through the evening.
