GARNER, N.C. — It has been nearly three years since Joshua Davis died while walking down a street in Garner. His mother, Judy Creech is hoping a new plea will bring some closure.

Authorities said the 16-year-old was walking down a neighborhood street when something hit him in the head.

Police never determined if the object was thrown from a car or something sticking out of a vehicle.

"I don't know what happened to my son, I found him laying on the side of the road. I just want to know what happened to him," Creech said. "Somebody is responsible for this and you just want answers. Nothing is going to bring him back."

The family recently placed a banner along the busy stretch of highway hoping someone who may know something will call Garner police.

"(I'm) just hoping some little information would come out of this," Creech said.

Garner police said the case is still active and open. They said they plan to issue an update on the case in the next two weeks.
