4 Face Felony Counterfeit Charges

MEBANE, N.C. — Four people are facing felony charges for allegedly selling counterfeit merchandise after a massive raid at an Orange County flea market.

The state's anit-counterfeit task force seized more than $700,000 worth of suspected counterfeit goods at a raid at the Buckhorn Flea Market at 400 Buckhorn Road. Items seized include music CDs, Nike shoes and name-brand handbags.

The items seized had an estimated retail value of $702,930.

Cheikh Ebengue, 36, of Raleigh; Diobourou Thimbo, 33, of Raleigh; Gordon Hannah, 41, of Raleigh; and William Manigo, 37, of Virginia, are each charged with one felony count of criminal use of a counterfeit trademark.

A fifth suspect, Jose Capado Caballos of Cameron, was cited for a misdemeanor trademark violation.
