Power Restored To Downtown Fayetteville, Transformer Repairs Continue

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Power is back on in downtown Fayetteville, but repair crews say there is still a lot of work to be done.

Early Wednesday, two underground transformers caught fire and blew through the sidewalk near the Market House.

Power was out in a three-block area most of the day and part of Green Street was closed to traffic.

Crews plan to fix the traffic light at Green and Bow streets Thursday.
