Nash County investigating reports of food-related illness
The Nash County Health Department is investigating several reports of gastroenteritis that it says might be associated with a local steakhouse.
Posted — UpdatedBut Nash County's health director, Bill Hill, said in a news release Friday that no specific illness or positive association with the Ribeyes Steakhouse in Nashville has been confirmed.
He did not say how many reports the health department has received, but did say they have been mild cases.
The restaurant is fully cooperating with the investigation, Hill said.
The best way to prevent general gastrointestinal illness is to practice proper hand-washing, especially after using the restroom, changing diapers, before eating and preparing food, and when caring for a sick person.
Anyone with symptoms of vomiting or diarrhea should stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids and remain at home until all symptoms are gone to prevent infecting others.
