Edgecombe County Votes For School Bond Referendum

Posted Updated

EDGECOMBE COUNTY, N.C. — Commissioners in Edgecombe County agreed to put a $12 million school bond referendum on the November ballot.

The money will help build new schools and renovate older ones.

If passed by voters, the referendum would raise property taxes by one or two cents per $100 valuation.

Commissioners will discuss the wording and decide on the amount of the property tax increase during their June meeting.
