Residents along Fox Road have put up signs asking motorists to slow down on their road. Motorists often use the road at a thoroughfare between Spring Forest Road and U.S. Highway 401.
Residents claim there have been some near-misses in the neighborhood involving the cars with kids and pets.
"They probably won't have anything done on this road until someone is killed. That could be one of my kids," resident Sean Lewis said.
"Of course, progress comes and you've got to get used to it, I suppose, but it's just a lack of respect for the people who live here, and that's what really bothers me," resident Melody Allen said.
Residents have called and e-mailed city officials to complain about the problem. They are hoping to get some speed bumps in the area or possibly reduce the speed limit.
Raleigh police said they have been doing some radar enforcement along Fox Road. However, the city transportation department has no plans in the works to put in speed bumps or lower the speed limit.
