Durham Courthouse To Get Extra Security

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham officials are tightening security at the county courthouse.

In October, armed deputies will replace unarmed civilian guards at the main courthouse doors.

New surveillance cameras are also being installed.

The new measures were prompted by several gang altercations both inside and outside the courthouse.
