Driver Injured After Tanker Truck Overturns In Chatham County

CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. — The driver of a propane truck faces charges for a wreck in Chatham County Wednesday afternoon.

It appeared the truck was traveling westbound on U.S. 64 and was turning onto the ramp when it flipped over at the U.S. 64, Highway 421 interchange in Siler City.

The state Highway Patrol says Mark Rudd, 51, of Greensboro, will be charged with exceeding a safe speed.

Rudd is listed in stable condition at UNC Hospitals.

Traffic was backed up for a half-mile as crews cleared the scene.
