Officers were dispatched to the Magistrate's Office on Mangum Street just after 11 p.m. in reference to two gunshot wounds.
When they arrived, they found Fred Parker, 53, of 517 Holloway St, had suffered a gunshot wound to the upper torso. His passenger, Deborah King, 45, of the same address, also suffered a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
The shooting victims, who were in a Chevrolet truck, told police say they were caught off guard when two men suddenly appeared and started shooting. They were each shot while sitting inside the vehicle.
They managed to drive the truck to the Magistrate's Office for help.
Officers received another call about a shooting victim on Franklin Street and determined the shootings were related.
The third victim, Mario Fortune, 22 of 1012 Franklin St., suffered gunshot wounds to each leg.
Fortune told police he was exiting the truck that the other two victims were in, when two unidentified black males rounded the corner and started shooting at him. He managed to dive beneath a parked truck.
The victims were transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Durham police are looking for two black men armed with a shotgun and a handgun.
Police have no motive for the shooting, but say it could be gang-related.
The incident is still under investigation.
