William Ott has a technology company that does contract work in Iraq. He said contractors know the dangers when they go overseas and are trained for it.
"The incident [Wednesday] is a tragedy. It does make me very angry, but it does not surprise me," Ott said. "Those things are going to happen. It's unfortunately part of war."
Retired Army Captain Craig Marks said angry mobs are going after U.S. civilians because attacking Iraqi soldiers have not driven the military out.
"They have tried to hit the military. The president has stood up and said, 'It's not going to work. We're gonna stay there,'" Marks said. "So now, they are hitting civilian contractors and also missionaries. They are soft targets."
