RALEIGH, N.C. — Police have identified a body that was found last week in a Glenwood Avenue parking lot.

Rajesh Rajan Das, who lived in Durham, was found dead inside a car in the parking lot near the Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon at 6512 Glenwood Ave. on Dec. 6.

On the previous night, Das and a friend came to Raleigh and were going to spend the night with two other friends in a North Carolina State University dormitory, police said. When they arrived at the dorm, Das was asleep in the back seat of the car, and his three friends decided to let him stay there, police said.

The next morning, the friend from Durham returned to the car and began driving back to Durham, assuming that Das was still asleep. While traveling on Glenwood Avenue, the friend determined that Das was unresponsive and pulled into a shopping center parking lot to call police.

Police are awaiting autopsy results, but there have been no indications of foul play.
