C-130 Makes Emergency Landing At Fayetteville Airport

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A C-130 military transport plane from Pope Air Force Base made an emergency landing at Fayetteville Regional Airport Tuesday afternoon.

No one was injured in the incident, which occurred at about 1:40 p.m.

The plane had a problem with its utility hydraulic system, Pope spokesman Ed Drohan said. The system controls steering when the plane is on the ground.

The C-130 crew decided to land at the Fayetteville airport because of the weather, Drohan said.

No commercial flights were delayed by the emergency landing, and a crew from the air base went to the Fayetteville airport with a towbar to remove the C-130 from the end of the runway.
