US LEC Merger Wins FCC Approval

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Federal Communications Commission has signed off on the merger of PAETEC Communications and Charlotte-based

US LEC

, a provider of telecommunications solutions across the South and Mid-Atlantic.

The companies announced their plans to merge in August.

The merged company will trade as a public firm under US LEC’s Nasdaq symbol (CLEC).

PAETEC is privately held.

The combined company will have revenues of more than $1 billion and offer service in 52 of the top 100 metropolitan service areas in the U.S.
