Pollock will report directly to Chuck Swoboda, the chairman and chief executive officer of the developer and manufacturer of semiconductors and light-emitting diodes.
Pollock’s most recent position was vice president of sales for Philips Lumileds. He also has worked with Qusion Technologies and Anadigics as well as Hewlitt-Packard. He is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University.
"One of Cree's priorities is to expand our global sales, marketing and distribution capabilities. Bob brings a great mix of industry and sales expertise to this important position," Swoboda said in a statement. "I look forward to working with Bob to build our sales team to support our current customers and drive Cree's growth into the emerging markets for more energy-efficient lighting and power."
