Misys Project Begins Accepting Applications For $10M in Community Grants

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The

Misys Center for Community Health Leadership

is accepting applications for some $10 million in community grants to help spread the adoption of electronic health-care records.

The program was established in June \by Misys Healthcare Systems, which is based in Raleigh.

Applications will be accepted through Dec. 31.

Communities and regional health-care organizations interested in the sharing of clinical data for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes are eligible to apply. Groups do not have to be affiliated with Misys in order to be eligible.

“National health-care IT adoption is an achievable goal, but one that must begin on a local level,” said Dallas Olson Jr., executive director of the Misys Center. “This requires that local health-care organizations are enabled with all of the appropriate resources to make the goal of community-wide data-sharing a reality through (electronic health records) and other solutions.”
