Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A neighborhood in Cumberland County is putting up an annexation fight.

The Gates Four community is suing the city of Fayetteville. According to state law, a city can't annex an area unless it has a certain number of people per acre.

Gates Four residents said they do not have enough to be annexed.

Annexation is set for June 30. The city plans to add 43,000 residents.
