Authorities Consider Foul Play In Disappearance Of Wilson Man

Travis Lynch, 21, was last seen dropping a friend off at a Nash County home on Dec. 24.

Deputies and family members have searched for weeks, but found nothing. Now, investigators suspect Lynch's disappearance could be foul play.

"He never, never missed Christmas with his family. This was his first one, so we know something is wrong somewhere," said Avalean Lynch of her nephew.

After dropping of a friend at her home in Middlesex, Lynch was supposed to go straight to his home in Wilson.

"He never would have left on his own never," said Avalean Lynch said. "We are very concerned because this is not like him it all."

Investigators with the Nash County Sheriff's Office share the family's concern.

"Since he's been gone for so long, we're thinking maybe foul play may be involved, but [there's] no concrete evidence to say any foul play has happened," said Lt. Patrick Joyner of the Nash County Sheriff's Office.

The family is putting up homemade posters, desperately trying to bring their loved one home.Investigators are sending out their own posters and updated pictures of Lynch.

Investigators have interviewed his friends and family. This week, deputies used a helicopter to search for the white Pontiac Grand Am Lynch was driving.

"He has never done this before -- been missing any length of time. There is no past to think he's involved in anything," Joyner said.

Investigators said they will continue to put up posters and circulate pictures until someone can explain why Lynch did not come home.

Lynch is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. He has a birthmark of the left side of his face near his mouth.
