Chapel Hill Police Seek Suspect In Burglary, Attempted Assault

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill police are on the lookout for a man who reportedly broke into a woman's residence and fought with her before fleeing.

According to police, the suspect entered the residence north of Highway 54 and east of Fordham Boulevard around 8 p.m. Dec. 30, getting in through an unlocked door while the woman was in the shower.

Police said the suspect confronted the woman and began reaching for her. She was able to fight off the suspect, who left the area.

The suspect is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 210 pounds, with long blonde hair and brown or green eyes. He was wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident.
