Posted Updated

CARY, N.C. — Cary police call them the BB gun gang and said the group has struck again.

Vandals shot out 60 windows in downtown businesses over the weekend, bringing the total number of targets to 120 since Nov. 1.

Police suspect a group of teenagers is responsible for the damage totaled at tens of thousands of dollars and said the vandals are using BB guns and slingshots.

Police are looking for three white males ages 16 to19 in a dark blue Hyundai. Police would also like to question four teenage occupants of a teal, four-door Honda Accord or Toyota . Among these white males ages 16-19 was one in the back seat who police said shot out another vehicle's driver side mirror.

In addition to downtown Cary, the group has targeted properties throughout Cary, including Harrison Avenue, Kildaire Farm Road, Walnut Street, James Jackson Avenue and numerous side streets.

Police are worried these costly teenage pranks will eventually hurt someone.

Cary Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the identification and apprehension of individuals responsible for these crimes. Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at 226-CRIM(E) or (919) 462-3816.
