Linda Smith travels to Grantham daily to care for her mentally challenged nephew.
"I'm sure I'm concerned for my nephew's safety, for the older people's safety, for children -- small kids out in the yard playing," she said.
Investigators say they still have no suspects, no witnesses and no motive for the double shooting. Residents said they will not feel safe until deputies arrest someone. Until then, they want authorities to tell them something.
"If it was planned or if it was a robbery or if it was a forced entry, that would make me feel more at ease if I knew one of those ways," resident Dawn Salatino said.
Winders said he has put extra deputies on patrol in the community to keep a close watch on the area, especially on the victims' street. They are also asking neighbors to help.
Authorities said they have also put extra security outside Muriel Brock's hospital room.
Muriel Brock called 911 after he and his wife were shot. While 911 tapes are routinely released, investigators are holding the tape as evidence. For now, Winders will not say whether or not he identified or described the shooter.
Peggy Brock was buried Thursday. Muriel Brock is listed in stable condition after being shot 15 times. His family said he cannot communicate yet, but doctors expect him to recover.
