Posted Updated

HENDERSON, N.C. — More jobs are heading to Vance County.

Gov. Mike Easley was on hand Wednesday at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Affiliated Computer Services in Henderson. The Fortune 500 company is putting a pharmacy call center in that area.

The center will take customer service calls for pharmacies. The center currently has 50 workers, but it could soon employ as many as 200 workers.

The news is good for Vance County since officials claim the county has one of the highest unemployment rate in the state. To put it in perspective, the state's unemployment rate is around 6 percent, while Vance County's unemployment rate is at around 13 percent.
