DUNN, N.C. — No charges will be filed in a tragic accident that killed a little boy.
James Austin Statler, 4, died Sunday after his grandfather mistakenly ran over him with his truck.
The accident happened in the driveway of a home in Northern Sampson County.
The grandfather, James Brewington, never saw the little boy.
Driveways are more dangerous than people might think.
Over a five-year period ending in 2001, almost 2,000 people were killed or injured by a vehicle in a driveway in North Carolina. That is 200 more than pedestrian crashes in intersections.
