CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Family, friends and colleagues paid a final tribute Wednesday to a local sheriff's deputy killed in the line of duty.
Deputy John Strickland died last week while responding to a call, crashing his car in Harnett County. Wednesday, funeral services were held in Cumberland County.
Strickland was buried with full military honors.
He had just retired from the Army this year and decided to get into law enforcement.
