BUXTON, N.C. — A big celebration on the Outer Banks is on hold because of Hurricane Isabel.
Organizers had planned to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse this month.
The damage caused by Isabel was so extensive, the ceremony has been put off until next spring.
A small, unofficial observance will be held at the lighthouse on Oct. 18.
