Fayetteville Bike Man Expected To Continue Holiday Tradition

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The bicycle man is not losing his pedal power.

Cumberland County officials agreed to lease Moses Mathis an old warehouse off Bragg Boulevard for $1 a year.

For the past couple of years, Mathis repaired dozens of bikes and gave them to children at Christmas.

Mathis was recently told to remove a pile of bicycle parts and a garbage truck from the property by Sept. 1. The parts have since been removed, and he has some more time to get rid of the truck, which is broken.
