Durham Buys More Time For Decisions On Bond Spending

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Leaders in the Bull City have more time to decide how to spend millions of dollars in bond money.

Monday evening, the City Council unanimously approved a 3-year extension on how to use $86 million.

Seven years ago, voters approved the bond for renovating city parks, paving streets and building affordable housing. The money has not been spent.

Originally, the city had until Nov. 5 to use the money.
