Arraignment For Former State Ag Commissioner Postponed

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The court arraignment for Meg Scott Phipps has been postponed.

The former state Agriculture commissioner was scheduled to appear Monday in Wake County court, but Phipps' attorney, Roger Smith, asked the court to put off the hearing. He is currently working on a murder trial.

Phipps resigned in June after allegations involving her campaign finances. She is charged with obstruction of justice and perjury.

Three of her former aides have already been indicted.
