FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville police detective's son is in big trouble with the law.
Steven Oldacre, 16, is charged with attempted first-degree murder and felonious assault. Investigators say he stabbed his friend, Kristin Barnes, with a steak knife.
Barnes is listed in serious condition.
Investigators said they still don't know what the motive was.
Oldacre's father is a detective with the Police Department's Property Crimes Division.
